Ohm's Law

In a simple circuit, the current through a conductor is proportional to the voltage across it. The constant that links them is the conductor's resistance.

V = I × R

Worked example. A 12 V battery drives a 4 Ω resistor. Current: I = V / R = 12 / 4 = 3 A.

Notes to write down

  • Ohm's Law: V = I × R (voltage = current × resistance)
  • Units: current I in amperes (A), voltage V in volts (V), resistance R in ohms (Ω)
  • Rearrange: I = V / R and R = V / I
  • Higher resistance → less current for the same voltage

Who can see my child's progress? +
Only your child, through their own private login. Each student's data is fully isolated — progress, scores, and notes are theirs alone and are not shared with other students or shown publicly. (On the Max plan, you also receive a weekly progress summary directly.)
What if a lesson has a mistake? +
Lessons are checked before they're used. If your child ever spots something that looks wrong, they can flag it in one click, and it's reviewed and corrected. Accuracy matters more than volume.
How long does setup take? +
For Normal and Pro Studying, your child is usually up and studying within 1–2 days. Max is custom-built around your child's specific year and grade, so it takes 3–4 days to prepare.
Can my child study in English or French? +
Both. Yearline teaches the same curriculum fully in English or fully in French — you choose per subject, and you can switch or run both. It's genuine instruction in each language, ideal for bilingual families and international schools.
What happens if my child falls behind? +
The weekly Sunday test catches it early. If a subject's score is low, that subject is flagged and a focused review pass is required before new lessons in it unlock — so gaps get closed instead of quietly piling up.
